6/16/10

WTF:! Ok so it's not quite a triple, but a neat trick nonetheless. Ulf was one of East Germany's top AAers in the 80's. He competed in the '84 Alternate Games and retired after the '88 Olympics. Note: His brother was '80 Olympian Lutz Hoffman. Lutz commited suicide in '97. At the time of his death he was coaching at DHFK sports club.

WTF?! Xiao didn't finish this routine at the 1988 Chunichi Cup and placed 22nd AA. Funfact: The reverse hect front recatch is named after Xiao and NOT Vitali Marinich.

Routine of the day. Henrietta at the age of 12(!) on FX. So cute. Funfact: Henrietta was interested in competing NCAA after Barcelona, but was ineligible.

1976 USA AA Champ Denise Cheshire made quite a few films after retirement. The following clip is from the so bad it's great horror movie "Fatal Games." Denise performed as a stuntwoman for most of her career. Her last film credit is 2002's "It's a Very Merry Muppet Christmas Movie." Warning: Graphic violence.

Random non-gymnastics video of the day. This video is a hoot! Family Guy spoofs the grape stomping reporter who got the breath knocked out of her. It includes the original vid prior to Stewie's reenactment. I had no idea humans could make those kind of sounds! You KNOW her coworkers were doing everything to keep from cracking up. Oh dear...yowtch!
